InstallationInstallation

The fairly dry Trisoplast mixture, which is normally produced in a mobile mixing plant, is best installed using  a hydraulic excavator. Sufficient compaction is simply achieved by a small compactor, roller or vibrating plate.

The Trisoplast mixture is spread out by an excavator (preferably long-reach with an approximately 3 metre wide bucket) in longitudinal sections of normally 5 to 7 up to 10 metres wide. If used in combination with a covering geotextile or HDPE liner the installed width may be adjusted to the width of the covering material. A steel girder placed along the side is used for height reference for the thickness of the uncompacted layer. Additionally the uncompacted thickness is frequently checked during installation by direct measurements using a probe or shovel with a marking at the correct height and by pushing it through the uncompacted layer.

Compaction is simply achieved statically with a lightweight compactor (about 2 to 5 tons depending on availability and the stability of the subsoil), a larger vibrating plate or a single drum roller operated by an excavator (mainly used in areas with a low subsoil stability and on very steep slopes). In areas with difficult access smaller vibrating plates or simply hand-operated soil compactors may be used.

The entire production process, including the quality of the raw materials, the mixing and installation process as well as the quality control of the completed layer is carefully monitored according to the Trisoplast Manual.
