Infrastructure and Construction
In underground structures in the construction of buildings and infrastructure projects the water isolating layer of Trisoplast® will provide a simple and effective solution. Where necessary, Trisoplast is also used to protect ground water and soil from pollution.
 
 
 
Examples of where Trisoplast is applicable are:
  • Canals, creeks, water basins, fire ponds, dykes etc. 
  • Underground parking garages, basements, cellar vaults, forts etc.
  • Concrete deck of wildlife overpasses, parking garages, roof gardens
  • Sewer trenches
  • Cable and pipe penetrations
  • Underpasses at roads, railroads and waterways
  • Expansion joints at civil constructions
  • Seepage seal at excavations of a natural clay layer
  • Road construction in a groundwater protection area.
  • Encapsulation of contaminated materials (recycling, waste incineration slags etc.)
 
Trisoplast is easy to apply in smaller spaces. Unlike geomembranes, Trisoplast easily connects to constructions and seal penetrations. With its large self-healing power and thicker layer Trisoplast is far less sensitive to sharp objects in the underground layer and covering layer (pebbles, construction waste etc. are inevitable in a construction environment). Thanks to its chewing gum-like properties and high swelling capacity Trisoplast has a good adaptability to poor surfaces and differential settlements that might occur in the underground structure. The high water-retaining ability and the resistance to shrinkage ensures that Trisoplast will not lose its functionality due to cracking in case of dehydration. This in contrast to many mineral barriers consisting of pure clay or bentonite, where damage was found at excavations after several years of use. For large constructions, Trisoplast is delivered in bulk or mixed on-site. For small works, Trisoplast can be delivered in big bags.
 
All pre-mentioned advantages result in a sustainable, safe and simple barrier that is quick to install, even with many connections to structures.
